Christian Mommertz

Ogilvy

Frankfurt

"Don't tell mom I'm in advertising. She thinks I'm playing the piano in a whorehouse." Christian's mom had to get on with both her son playing jazz at night and recovering from it at an advertising agency during the day.

After studying architecture and graphic design he started his career at the Ogilvy Network in 1994 working for brands such as IBM, Amex, Siemens, Kodak, Lufthansa, German Railway. The time he spent at the Ogilvy offices in Hong Kong and Capetown helped him to shape his sense for cross-national creative standards. After four years working as a creative director at Jung von Matt he rejoined Ogilvy in 2003.

Christian collected more than 250 national and international awards such as Clios, ADC NY, NY Festival, D&AD, The One Show, LIAA, Communication Arts, Eurobest, ADC Europe, ADC Germany etc. including 9 Cannes Lions.

According to the 2008 Big Won Report, he ranked as the eighth most-awarded creative director in the world.
