Before founding BVD in 1996, Carin worked as a freelance creative, studied at Berghs School of Communication and worked in the design industry in London for a short period. She has worked as a creative for over 25 years.
Carin has mainly worked with strategic design, focusing on all aspects of branding ie. identities, packaging and retail concepts. Her work is simple, clear, modern and functional with a strong message: simplify to clarify.
BVD is a design and branding company, and has for many years been one of the leading design agencies in Sweden and Scandinavia. Founded by Carin & Catrin Vagnemark and initially run by women and with only female employees, BVD was for many years known as the ”girl studio.” Today, it has grown to 17 employees—and now includes male colleagues.
Clients through the years include large, global Swedish consumer brands including IKEA, H&M, Absolute Vodka, Beckers Paint, Electrolux, Blossa wines and Swedish Design Award. For the past five years BVD has worked with a number of international clients from the USA, Japan, Norway, Germany and Switzerland.
BVD has won over 40 design awards (AIGA, Red Dot Awards, European Design Awards, Epica Awards, Swedish Design Awards, Retail Awards and The One Show) and its work has been published in many design books and magazines.
