Johanna has found joy at the intersection of technology and design since her days of exuberant pixel painting and fastidious pixel erasing in MacPaint on her Macintosh Classic.

She variously studied printmaking, philosophy, filmmaking, mathematics and political science before dropping out of college. This well prepared her for a career in the early wild-west days of design for the internet. In the midst of the dot-com boom she worked at R/GA New York where she lent her ideas, aesthetic and sense of brand identity to build both bandwidth-dominating video-rich-brand-campaign websites as well as more practical ecommerce websites for clients Nike and Target. She holds several One Club pencils, Cannes Lions and other industry awards for this work.

Since 2006 Johanna has worked in-house at kate spade, jack spade and currently at J.Crew, where she has brought her web-nerd knowledge to bear at the creative departments of these well-loved brands. At J.Crew as the Vice President of Creative Marketing she, along with her outstanding team, has created big beautiful images, 120-second documentaries, digital boutiques,and tiny little tweets that have shaped the brand's evolution over the past six years.
