Ex-Hearst Director Jenny Tsai is the founder and CEO of Wearisma, a social influencer agency that works with companies like Marc Jacobs, Westfield and Polaroid, matching them to top new influencer talent.
Before founding Wearisma in 2015, Jenny’s role at magazine publisher Hearst saw her lead international digital strategy as the company’s then youngest Digital Media Director. Her remit was to grow and monetise the audience for iconic brands such as ELLE and Cosmopolitan across more than 50 countries outside of the US.
In this role, Jenny leveraged cross-country analytics to switch the focus of her team’s content strategy from search to social. Doing so she grew the international audience from 100 million monthly visitors to 150 million monthly visitors in just a few months.
Jenny brings her unique skill set at the intersection of tech, data and creativity/the arts to Wearisma. By introducing digital trend, visual commerce - the ability to shop directly from the images and videos on Instagram - to the clout of influencer marketing, brands can harness the trust between influencers and their audiences to drive sales at the point of inspiration.
She has an engineering degree from Princeton University and a development policy master's degree from Cambridge. She has lived in four countries and is at home in the international arena. Jenny is a native speaker in English and Mandarin and is proficient in French, Japanese and Spanish.
