Young Guns

Young Guns is a portfolio competition awarding creative professionals 30 years and under, including designers, illustrators, entrepreneurs, and more!

2012: For the tenth edition of Young Guns, the program abandoned its 50-winner quota, opting to simply award the very best entries, no matter how big or small the class would be. The result: a lean and mean Young Guns 10 class of 34 exceptionally talented winners.

The Young Guns 10 Cube and annual, both designed by YG5 winners Andre Andreev and Dress Code, and hand-lettered by Timothy Goodman (YG7), were made of concrete (yes, a book with concrete covers!) and emblazoned with Roman numeral Xs to mark the class. The ceremony and party took place on November 8, 2012.

Daniel Savage grew up in New York playing the drums and drawing cartoons. After a year studying percussion at the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music he decided to change his path and give visual arts a try. He later combined these two talents into a signature self taught animation style.

He has worked with clients such as Comedy Central, Kanye West, and Google on a wide variety of mediums and formats. In addition to his commercial work, Daniel has taught design and animation at the School of Visual Arts and New York University.

From 2010 - 2011 Daniel teamed up with Rockwell Group's LAB as the Art Director, bringing his motion design experience into an architectural and interactive realm. Focusing on large scale installations, the LAB seeks to blur the lines between the physical and virtual.

In 2011 he launched the iPhone App and share service GIF SHOP. It currently has over 100,000 users, and has been featured in countless publications including Wired and Fast Company.
