Nancy Rice has held senior creative management posts with the likes of Knox Reeves, Bozell & Jacobs Minneapolis, DDB Needham Chicago, Ogilvy & Mather Chicago, BBDO Minneapolis, and Rice & Rice. In 1981, she was a founding partner in Fallon McElligott Rice, which, within three years of its founding, was named "Agency of the Year" by Ad Age. While there, Rice was named first runner up for "Ad woman of the Year" by ADWEEK.

In 1986, ESQUIRE magazine selected Ms Rice as the Business & Industry winner in the 1986 ESQUIRE REGISTER alongside Steve Jobs. In 1989, her "Perception/Reality" campaign for ROLLING STONE magazine was chosen as one of the "10 Best Campaigns of the Decade" (the only print campaign chosen) by The One Club NY and by ADWEEK. In 1997, she was honored by British Design & Art Direction (D&AD), by being one of 28 of the worlds best Art Directors (only six American art directors) included in THE ART DIRECTION BOOK, their first book on art direction.

Her numerous awards include gold and silver medals in The One Show, Clio's, Andy's, New York Art Directors Club, PRINT CASEBOOKS, Athena's, GRAPHIS, Society of Illustrator's Annual, PRINT REGIONAL DESIGN ANNUAL, PRINT CASEBOOKS, and CA.

In addition to winning creative awards, Ms Rice has also been a sought-after judge, speaker and columnist for the advertising industry, the graphic design field and education. She has been a Trustee for two terms for her alma mater, the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD), where she was a commencement speaker representing 100 years of MCAD alumni. She also served two terms on the MCAD Alumni Board and in 2012, was a featured speaker in MCAD’s 125th Anniversary documentary.

Rice was also honored with a one-woman show in New York at the Herb Lubalin Gallery at Cooper Union. In 2001, Nancy's dedication to education and the future of the communications industry led her full-circle to the position as Worldwide Creative Director of Miami Ad School, where her mission was to assure the quality level of teachers, students, and their work worldwide.

In 2004 MCAD tapped Nancy to re-structure the undergrad degree program for Advertising majors, lead that program, and teach full time. She continues to teach at MCAD as adjunct faculty in the Entrepreneurial Studies program, bringing local, national and international clients into the classroom and the students to them. Most recently, her students have worked with the Scottish Tourism Board, the Women’s International League for Peace & Freedom, and General Mills (LARABAR). She also continues to mentor her many students, graduates and colleagues worldwide, and to be involved in creating new experiences in curriculum, as her commitment to the future of the industry. In addition, Nancy is a single parent and grandmother, proud parent of two 39-year old daughters, both artists.
