Benita Raphan is a director and designer– whose work has been featured on HBO, The Sundance Channel, PBS, Channel Four Television, UK, as well as at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. Her collage work is part of the permanent collection of the Copper Hewitt National Design Museum. Her work as an art director in the fashion industry in London and Paris informed her career as a filmmaker. Her films have also been shown at the Sundance Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, Telluride Film Festival, and London Film Festival. Most recently, she received a New York Foundation for the Arts, NYFA Opportunity Grant for a Fiscally Sponsored Artist. Benita has lectured to students all over the country and after teaching master's students at NYU. She currently works with Richard Wilde at SVA as she completes work on a documentary about Emily Dickinson.
