Hanyi's name is often mispronounced. Her life as a lawyer was put on hold indefinitely (thankfully) for an about turn into advertising. She started her career in New York working at Publicis before moving back to Asia.

As Chief Creative Officer of TSLA, with offices in Singapore and Shanghai, she has worked for brands such as Netflix, Nokia, Tiger Beer, Evian and Lego. She has a particular interest in bringing the worlds of editorial, entertainment & education into the work and the agency. Under her charge, TSLA was named APAC Creative Agency of the Year in 2013 & 2015, a first for a Singaporean independent agency in nearly 2 decades. She has also led TSLA to become the 1st creative agency in Asia to be named one of the World's Leading Independent Agencies for 6 consecutive years by Campaign UK.
