MUSEUM OF CONAN O'BRIEN FAN

ART OPENS IN NEW YORK

November 02, 2011

A special exhibit featuring Conan O’Brien fan art, “NY COCO MoCA” has opened this week in New York, with over 50 pieces of original art in a variety of media rendered by Conan’s fans. The exhibit coincides with Conan’s return to NY this week, where he is airing his show live from Beacon Theater. The COCO MoCA will be housed on the 2nd floor of the Time Warner Center from October 24th through November 3rd.

The original fan art ranges from caricature of the famous host and his sidekick Andy Richer, to hilarious takes on iconic paintings, such as Conan and Andy as the “American Gothic” farmer and wife. One painting imagines an interview between Conan and Elvis, the latter inexplicably wearing a birthday hat and surrounded by balloons.

The multimedia exhibit, commissioned by Conan’s network TBS, is a collaboration between Lead Dog Marketing, as well as agency Deep Local, who developed the "Conan Loveseat" for the exhibit, an "interactive robotic couch sculpture that talks to fans, hugs them and takes a picture for them." COCO MoCA also features an original commissioned sculpture from artist Federico Uribe. Follow the link to watch video footage of this fun, bizarre exhibit: http://tiny.cc/3v6ji
