The One Club Archive department got an email this morning from our friend John Kirkham from Wieden and Kennedy in London. He was looking for information about an advertisement that ran about homeless people with the song New York, New York in it. So of course I went straight to our expert, CEO Mary Warlick. She rattled off the top of her head like it was yesterday. The Coalition for the Homeless was the client, 1993 the year and the great Leslie Sweet and Peter Cohen the art directors and writers. Laura Belsey directed the spot. It also won Best of Show in 1993. The ad is timeless and could have been made today. For more information on The Coalition for the Homeless
