It's been raining a lot in NYC for the past few days. I saw this car with the rear window wiper go by me yesterday and it got me wondering when that became an item on cars. Do we really need it? I had one on a VW Camper Van I had, but I don't think it ever worked! I found this Volvo ad that won a 1975 One Show Gold award, it clears my question up a bit. Volvo was the first to put it on a station wagon. This is when Volvo was an amazing car, and they had those great ads created by Scali, McCabe, Sloves. Robert Reitzfeld was the Art Director and Thomas J. Nathan was the copywriter on this ad. The copy and art direction is really beautifully done. Both men went on to have great careers.
