It's taken a few days to sink in, but it's true, The Big Man, Clarence Clemons has passed away.
So take out your Springsteen records and listen a bit to some of the best music that's been made since 1970. NYC was a bit like the E Street Band in the 70's, scruffy, stoned and full of life. Clarence Clemons and his horn was some of the music blaring out of those apartment windows, cars flying by and those big boom boxes down at Washington Square Park. We all gravitated to it.
Take a listen to Spirit in The Night, his sax is playing the lead the whole time Bruce is singing.
Or how about when we all heard Born to Run for the first time! And ending the record with Clarence on Jungleland. It took a long 3 years but Clarence wailed on Badlands. And one of my favorites and I know yours...the party song Sherry Darling. Take a listen....
