This is one of the first videos produced to promote a Glassware, a.k.a. an app for Google GLASS. We used GoPro footage overlayed on DSLR footage to recreate the feel of wearing GLASS.

Objective

This video aimed at bringing the viewer as close as possible to the actual experience of using Watchup on GLASS. Since most people don't have GLASS, the client wanted to create some momentum around his app (also available on iPad) by demonstrating that they are at the forefront of mobile screen technology.

Technical Challenge

The challenge lied in reproducing a viewing experience as close to real life as possible, with the tools available. We resorted to a GoPro with a head strap for the 1st person view footage, interspersed it with some traditional DSLR footage.
We then had to recreate the app visuals within a separate sequence with graphics and swipes, then overlay it on top of the GoPro footage.
We then had do find a way to have the GLASS screen stand out more than it did. We decided to color correct all the other footage in a grey tone, as close as possible to black and white while keeping some basic coloring.
