This poster was created for AAF Memphis to promote their annual Plug-In event. The show was created to be both a design lecture and social mixer featuring live music by agency bands. This year’s speaker was Matthew Jacobson (Digitas LBi, Third Man Records) who gave a presentation called Designing for Squares, about his experiences designing album covers. This event poster’s intent was to capture that same energy, giving the audience something to interact with in an truly analog way. Each poster was hand silkscreened for a unique, vintage feel with the white square in the center left blank, so that attendees could design their own album cover, using various stencils and spray cans set up for them at the event. No two posters turned out the same and each attendee left with a piece of custom rock n’ roll design.

Objective

Create an event poster that promotes the Lecture entitled Designing for Squares.
