CELEBRATION OF WINNERS

STUDENT AWARDS 2024

For countless young creatives, winning a One Show Pencil, an ADC Cube, or immortality in the TDC Annual is a dream come true. But dreams have to start somewhere, and for that, we have the Young Ones Student Awards. This competition challenges college, graduate, and portfolio school students to put their best foot forward in hopes of winning one of the first honors of their burgeoning careers.

Young Ones is a little more rock ‘n roll than the other Creative Week evenings, so it’s only fitting that it all takes place in the party-like atmosphere of New York’s Sony Hall.

Monday, May 13
6:30 PM - 11:00 PM

Sony Hall
235 W 46th St
New York, NY 10036

PORTFOLIO REVIEWS

Young Ones may celebrate some of the best students in the game, but Creative Week is here to help all students and recent grads shine by way of its must-attend Portfolio Reviews!

On Tuesday, May 14, we’ll be hosting not one but two in-person portfolio review sessions at LOCATION05 in Hudson Yards. This is a stellar opportunity for up-and-coming talent to get in front of creatives and recruiters from numerous top agencies and brands. You’ll get much-needed feedback, make connections, and maybe even land an internship or a job!

Can’t make it to New York? Not to worry! We’ll be going virtual with an online portfolio review on Wednesday, May 15, allowing you to show the world what you’ve got, no matter where in the world you are!

CREATIVE WEEK

A CELEBRATION OF DIVERSE CREATIVITY

The One Club champions the global creative community through the calendar year, but its efforts culminate with the celebration of Creative Week, which takes place every May in New York City.

By day, Creative Week features a handful of sessions, workshops, and reviews, designed to foster discussion, reflection, and connection in the advertising and design industries. By night, Creative Week rolls out the red carpet as it recognizes the very best work of the past year by way of three internationally acclaimed award shows: the lauding of “big ideas” at The One Show 2024; the celebration of design and craftsmanship at the ADC 103rd Annual Awards; a showcase of typographic perfection at the Type Directors Club’s 70 Annual Competition Exhibition; and the salute to the next generation of talent at the Young Ones Student Awards.

Whether you’re just starting your journey as a young creative or you’re picking up another Gold Pencil or Cube in your long advertising career, Creative Week has something for you.

ABOUT YOUNG ONES

Through the acclaimed Young Ones Student Awards, we aim to identify the best young creative talent from around the world in a variety of creative disciplines. The Young Ones Brief competition tasks students with creating work for different types of clients for the chance to earn a One Show Pencil. The Young Ones ADC competition offers students the chance to earn an ADC Cube by competing in the same disciplines and categories as the ADC Annual Awards. The Young Ones Portfolio competition is an opportunity for students to showcase examples from their portfolio in a variety of creative disciplines. The Young Ones TDC Competition is for font fanatics and lettering lovers looking to make their mark upon the typography community.

To qualify for entry, national and international college students must be enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an undergraduate or graduate college program, or other program approved by The One Club's Education Department.

Submissions to the competitions are judged based on creativity and originality. Winners are awarded during the Young Ones Education Festival, held each May in New York City.
