Latin America -Photojournalist II

The primary role of the Media Content Specialist is to be a visual storyteller. This intermediate specialist captures videos, photos, and editorial content to support revenue growth and create deeper levels of engagement between Compassion supporters and their beneficiaries.Â The specialist works within a highly collaborative regional team with a strong emphasis on partnership with international Compassion offices. At this career level, the incumbent generally works independently on moderately complex projects or as a team member on larger projects. He or she may coach other specialists.
*Candidates must be fluent in English, both written and verbal. Bilingual in a secondary language (native to the region) is preferred.Â Preferred candidates will also be located in Brazil, Haiti, Nicaragua, Mexico, Guatemala or Peru.Â
Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion's ministry in prayer.
Acts as an advocate for children ? raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one's influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.
Travels to Compassion programs to capture video, photos, and editorial stories to use in creative concepts that support marketing and engagement strategies and goals. Fully develops written stories, photo essays, and short video pieces along with providing captions and metadata for all acquired content.
Conducts video and/or photo acquisition, editing, and mastering of projects. Works from a conceptual understanding within the parameters outlined in project creative briefs to utilize video and photo to promote and expand Compassion's ministry opportunities. Maintains high level of quality, conforming to professional standards in this field.
Coordinates with Compassion teams and staff around the world to obtain potential media/story leads and content ideas.
Produces results-oriented, effective, brand-building digital content that support and strengthen Compassion's marketing strategy.
Works creatively within the brand standards to maintain the integrity, distinction, and consistency of the Compassion brand by adhering to the organization's brand standards and guidelines.
Contributes to just-in-time delivery and coordination of creative content during regional and country specific times of crisis and disaster situations. May travel to affected country to act as a local videographer or photojournalist.
As assigned, writes editorial content and short stories to share and support the work of Compassion and highlight the work of the churches and programs in the field.
May provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in the creative discipline.
Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Three years experience working in photojournalism or similar position or field. DemonstratedÂ experience in photography, video, and journalism strongly preferred.

Working Environment: Office ? Standard Office Environment
Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours per day
Travel Requirements: May be required to travel up to 30% of normal schedule
Other: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Lightroom and photo editing software preferred.
