(October 13, 2016) Population Reference Bureau (PRB) seeks a Video and Digital Producer with strong creative, collaborative, and project management skills. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced storyteller to lead the production of audiovisual content for a mission-driven organization focused on population, health, and environmental issues.

As a key member of PRB's award-winning communications team, and reporting directly to the Vice President of Communications, the Producer oversees the output of videos, animations, multimedia, and interactive digital content from conception through design and production?in close collaboration with program staff and PRB's U.S. and global partners. The Producer typically is involved in several content projects at a given time and engages external consultants as needed to meet deadlines.     

One primary task for the Producer is to oversee production of PRB's signature ENGAGE presentation and video packages used by global and country policy leaders to foster dialogue on important health and development issues (see As PRB gears up to produce several ENGAGE packages in the coming year and beyond, the Producer will provide creative direction, incorporate innovative formats and visuals.      

Key Responsibilities


Supports PRB program staff in conceptualizing, planning, and executing video and digital content projects for both program and marketing purposes. Ensures that products meet program goals and budgets.

Produces and edits video and digital content. Selects, edits, and incorporates third party content (stills, footage, music, graphics, etc.) as needed.

Selects and manages external consultants (videographers, photographers, narrators, programmers, voice artists, animators, translators, developers/coders) and maintains a ready list of consultants.  

Conducts live video shoots. Directs interviews and voiceover recordings.

Assists PRB staff in developing multimedia presentations for conferences and other venues.  

Tracks new digital trends and technologies to ensure that PRB's output remains on the cutting edge. 




Bachelor's degree in related field (fine arts, multimedia production, journalism, or social sciences) with relevant technical training in video and digital production.

At least five years' experience in video and multimedia content development, with experience using production and editing software (for example, Premiere Pro, Final Cut), animation software, and digital visualization techniques. Knowledge of Adobe After Effects helpful.

Ability to synthesize and present concepts and data using multiple media (video, animation, stills, graphics, etc.)

Demonstrated video/digital project management skills.

Knowledge of relevant programming languages helpful for overseeing technical work.

Knowledge of presentation development software.

Strong time management and problem solving skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Genuine interest in addressing social policy issues. International experience a plus.

French language ability helpful.
