In August 2010, Steve Simpson became the Chief Creative Officer of Ogilvy North America. This marked a return to Ogilvy. He spent six years learning craft as a copywriter in Hal Riney's rigorous West Coast shop, Ogilvy San Francisco. In 1990, he joined Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, becoming Partner and Executive Creative Director.

Steve's work has won every major industry award several times over—Gold at The One Show, Cannes, The Art Director's Club, the Clios, Effies, ANDYs. He has won the MPA Kelly Award, as well as its Copywriting award, twice. And his "Fresh TV" campaign for Chevys Mexican Restaurants was inducted into the Clio Hall of Fame—such as it is.

Taking the usual time out for broken collarbones and ribs, Steve rides some kind of bike at every opportunity--a habit continued from his days as "Newspaper Carrier of the Year" in his hometown of Shelbyville, Indiana.

Steve is married and has two children. They are all really nice people, and are fairly used to being mentioned only after the bicycle talk is played out.
