2009 COLLEGE COMPETITION FAQ

  • Who are eligible to enter?
    Students from colleges, graduate schools or portfolio schools are eligible. You cannot participate if you are working as a creative at an agency or a design companies, excluding the internship. Students from overseas can participate in the competition based on the above-mentioned eligibility.

  • Do I have to be a One Club member to participate?
    No. You don't have to be a member of the One Club to participate in the College Competition. See above for the eligibility.

  • Can I submit my work I did for school or portfolio?
    No. You can only submit the work you did for the brief provided by the One Club. The One Show (in College Competition or professional competitions) do not have spec work categories.

  • Can I try the client's product?
    If you are interested in obtaining Long's products, please contact Andrew Long at andrewmichael@gmail.com. The products are only available for shipping within the United States.

  • How can I get more information on the Long's Horseradish?
    Please contact Andrew Long at andrewmichael@gmail.com. For questions regarding submissions and details on entering the competition, please contact the One Club Education Department at education@oneclub.org.

  • Do I have to work as team?
    No. You can work on your own if you don't have a partner or are a design student.

  • Is there a limit to the number of members in a team?
    Although there's no limit, each member must contribute to the creative concept and execution of the project.

  • Do I send in the work or upload digital files?
    Certain categories require the entrant to upload digital images during the online registration in addition to sending in the physical pieces you must submit for judging. Please follow the instruction within the brief.

  • Do I have to enter in all categories?
    No. You can chose any category you want to enter.

  • Can I enter in multiple categories?
    Yes. You can enter as many pieces as you like in the same or different categories.

  • What's the currency of the entry fee?
    It is 20 USD per entry, whether single or campaign. (e.g. If you submit two different print entries, the fee will be $20 x 2 =$40.)

  • What details need to be included in a new logo design?
    Although there is no strict rule, the new logo should indicate "Long's Horseradish."

  • Can the Long's product be called "organic"?
    According to the USDA standard for organic Long's horseradish cannot be considered "organic," however, there is nothing in Long's horseradish that would disqualify it from being "all natural." (i.e. - there are no artificial preservatives, etc.)
