It is never too early to start networking with recruiters and preparing for your career. If you are undecided and not quite ready to job search, come and hear about different career paths at the information sessions. All students and alumni are invited to attend. The One Club will have information available about careers in creative fields in advertising, information and sign up for Winter Creative Boot Camps and other programs. Time: 1:30pm-3:00pm. Place: The Sportsplex, West Building, Lower Level, Room WB 301 November 17th, 2009 Career Expo Jobs and Internships Available to Brooklyn College Students & Alumni The One Club continues it career information tour to CUNY campuses with the visit to Brooklyn, providing one on one contact with creative professionals in the advertising industry, advice on breaking into advertising, and information about the upcoming Winter Creative Boot Camp. Brooklyn College Job/Internship Fair When: Tuesday, November 17th Time: from 12:30 to 3 Place: Student Center at Brooklyn College December 1st, 2009 Art & Copy Screening and Panel Discussion There will be a special screening of the highly acclaimed documentary "Art and Copy" about the ad industry and its creative side. The film which is playing nationally in theaters will be shown free to CUNY students in the Great Hall at CCNY at 5 PM on December 1st. It will be followed by a moderated Panel Discussion between leading Agency recruiters and creatives titled “How do I get a foot in the Door?” The Panel will be made up of a diverse array of creative talent from several agencies sharing their own stories and experience in the field. January 19 - 22nd, 2010 The First “Creative Boot Camp” NYC The One Club will conduct their first “Creative Boot Camp” in New York, it will be conducted by creative directors and designers from across the US and New York and is open to students in the CUNY system. The “Creative Boot Camp” will be held January 19-22 at the CUNY Macaulay Honors College. This four-day workshop is meant to introduce students to the art of building a campaign and concepting advertising ideas for a client. December 5-11th, 2009 One Show China For the past nine years, The One Club has undertook an initiative to help raise the creative standards for young advertising professionals in China. Assisted by One Show China, The One Club hosts a three-day conference that includes workshops by top industry professionals in Beijing each year.
The 2009 One Show China Workshop judges include Steve Sandstrom (Sandstrom Designs), PJ Pereira (Pereira & O'dell), Kevin Roddy (BBH, New York), Linus Karlsson (Mother, New York), Ross Chowles (The Jupiter Drawing Room, South Africa), Dave Holloway (freelance) and Dirk Eschenbacher (OgilvyOne, Beijing), and many more. This year's brief is to create ads for Li-Ning, China's leading sports brand.
