NEW YORK, NY (March 14, 2006) - The One Club has announced seven new members to its esteemed Board of Directors. Re-elected for a second term are current board members José Mollá, Rick Boyko, Jim Mountjoy, Kevin Roddy, and Luke Sullivan. The new members will complete two-year terms and the appointments are effective immediately.

The seven new members are: David Apicella, Co-Chief Creative Officer, Ogivly & Mather; Rosie Bardales, Group Creative Director, Mother; Jeff Benjamin, Interactive Creative Director, Crispin Porter + Bogusky; Kerri L. Martin, Director, Brand Innovation, Volkswagen of America, Inc.; Arthur Bijur, Executive Creative Director, Cliff Freeman & Partners; Kevin Proudfoot, Co-Executive Creative Director, Wieden+Kennedy; and Paula Scher, Principal, Pentagram Design.

The One Club Board of Directors meets four times a year to set policy and review initiatives and programs for both The One Club and its three juried awards competitions: the One Show, One Show Design, and One Show Interactive.

"The One Club will benefit from having designers, educators, interactive and new media experts and even a representative from the client side to help define our strategy of promoting and recognizing creative talent," said Executive Director Mary Warlick. "The combined talents of these seven individuals, along with our returning members, guarantee The One Club will continue to raise the bar for excellence in creative advertising."

Kerri Martin's appointment to the Board of Directors is significant as she is the first-ever member from the client side of the industry to serve on The One Club board. "Kerri will be vital to us because she can provide insight on how to educate the client about the importance of creative advertising," noted Warlick. "Diversifying the board is paramount for The One Club to achieve our goals."

This year, one of the key areas of focus for the Board of Directors will be overseeing fundraising efforts and production implementation for The Alchemists, a film project which features interviews with Hal Riney, Dan Wieden, Lee Clow, and Rich Silverstein. The full-length documentary, set to premiere later in 2006, champions the profound effect The One Club Creative Hall of Fame inductees and a few select others have had on our culture. It is fitting that The One Club bring this story to life; no other organization is as committed to the creative achievements of the advertising industry.

The One Club is the world's foremost non-profit organization for the recognition and promotion of excellence in advertising. Founded in 1975 and based in New York City, The One Club produces three annual awards competitions: The One Show, One Show Design and One Show Interactive, which culminate in awards ceremonies held in New York City each May.
