Doug Pray, Director
Doug Pray's feature documentary "SCRATCH" premiered at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival and is a dynamic exploration of the world of hip-hop DJs and "turntablism." Premiere magazine called it "…an amazing, life-affirming movie." "SCRATCH" was released domestically in 2002 by Palm Pictures, worldwide by Intermedia Films, was nominated for an IFP Independent Spirit Award, and is a best-selling DVD.
"HYPE!", Doug's award-winning film about the emergence and explosion of the Seattle rock music scene, also debuted at Sundance (1996), was released theatrically coast-to-coast, and went on to receive international distribution in all media (Lions Gate/Artisan).
New feature-length documentaries that Doug is currently working on include, "SURFWISE" a biographical portrait of Dorian "Doc" Paskowitz, an 83-year old surfer, doctor, health advocate, sex guru and legend within the surfing community, "GRAFFITI KINGS" about the daily lives of seven notorious graffiti writers (Image Entertainment), and "BIG RIG", about truck drivers, their philosophy of life and America's amazing trucking culture (Ocule Entertainment).
After majoring in Sociology at the Colorado College, Doug received an MFA from UCLA's Graduate School of Film and Television. He served on the documentary jury of the 2003 Sundance Film Festival, has appeared on numerous panels on independent filmmaking, and was a guest on NPR's "The Treatment" with Elvis Mitchell. He lives in Los Angeles.
Mary Warlick, The One Club, Executive Producer
Mary Warlick is presently the Executive Director of The One Club for Art and Copy in New York. The One Club sponsors the One Show awards, an international advertising awards competition that annually recognizes creative excellence.
Miss Warlick edits The One Show-Advertising's Best Radio, TV, Print and Design; most recent edition in 2005. This annual volume has become the industry. Miss Warlick lectures on current trends in advertising to schools and advertising clubs throughout the United States and internationally.
A native of North Carolina, Miss Warlick received a BFA at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and was trained as an art historian in the graduate school at Columbia University receiving a M.Phil in 1982. She currently serves on the faculty at the School of Visual Arts in New York where she teaches History of Advertising. She has published articles on advertising in Adweek and has been featured as an authority on advertising in the New York Times, Advertising Age, and Creativity magazine.
Kirk Souder and Greg Beauchamp, Granite Pass, Executive Producers
In February of 2005, Kirk Souder and Greg Beauchamp got together and formed Granite Pass - a project-based creative resource working for agencies and brands alike.
Kirk was a Founder and Creative Partner of Ground Zero in Los Angeles, where he and his partners took the company from zero to $150+ million in billings and from three to a hundred people in five years, and created internationally renowned and awarded campaigns for brands like ESPN, Sega, and the Anti-Tobacco Initiative.
Another great thing about Ground Zero for Kirk was that this is where he met Greg Beauchamp, who over the course of just a few short years had become the Design Director of Ground Zero. Greg took charge, overseeing all Ground Zero's design and art direction for clients like ESPN, Sega, Atlantis, E! Entertainment Networks. In the end, Greg became one of the most critical and defining forces in the creation and maintaining of Ground Zero's unique culture.
Jimmy Greenway & Michael Nadeau, Art & Industry, Producers
Jimmy Greenway and Michael Nadeau have produced and post-produced projects around the globe, including film, television, commercials, branded entertainment, web, wireless, and live-events. Clients and collaborators include BMW Films, U2, Universal, MGM/UA, Image Entertainment, Yari Film Group, YouthAIDS, Honda, Disney Interactive, Coca-Cola, and Activision.
Jimmy Greenway is co-founder and Executive Producer of Art & Industry. He started his Hollywood career in the world of music videos, working with over 100 acts including Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Babyface, Tom Petty, Van Halen, and John Lee Hooker. In 1997, Jimmy embarked on the U2 Popmart World Tour as Production Manager for the Film and Video unit, co-producing the ABC special U2:The Year in Pop and U2:Live from Rotterdam which went out live to 44 BBC markets worldwide.
In 2003, Jimmy produced a short film for BMW, Who Killed the Idea. The film, starring Harvey Keitel, premiered at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival. In 2004, he produced the feature film Consequences for Def Jam/Universal.
Michael Nadeau has helmed an array of music related projects for clients that include Jive Records, DKG music, Priority Records (Snoop Dogg), and Capitol/EMI Music. Art&Industry is also considered a vanguard in the Branded Entertainment industry. In 2003, he produced the award winning BMW Film "Who Killed The Idea" starring Harvey Keitel & Debi Mazar. Michael has just produced the feature film "Consequences" for Def Jam / Universal, a joint venture with Underground Railroad (Scarface, Ludicris).
