San Francisco / October 15 - 18, 2015

Hosted by BSSP & Venables Bell & Partners & Goodby

This was year three for the San Francisco Creative Boot Camp and it’s true, the third time is a charm! The Academy of Art and their amazing team of professors were once again gracious hosts for this year's CBC.

John Butler and his team at Butler, Shine, Stern and Partners got things started by inviting participants to their beautiful agency in Sausalito.  At the welcome reception students were presented with BSSP’s client brief for Sunrun, a leading solar power company.  The brief was challenging and smart, acknowledging Sunrun’s commitment to one of the 3 baseball teams that they sponsor – the Yankees, while communicating who they are and the benefits of having solar energy installed in your home.   The students had plenty to get charged up about until the next day and who knew, there are more synergies between baseball and solar power than one might think!

The following morning, Venables Bell and Partners shared a brief for their client – Audi. Audi has become the leader in luxury cars and wanted an experience that spoke to their superior craftsmanship and design.  The excitement in the room was heightened once the teams realized that they had 2 briefs and had to choose one to work on.   The first day commenced with a screening of the Howard Gossage documentary hosted by Goodby Silverstein & Partners.

Thankfully, this year San Francisco creatives represented brilliantly by coming out in full force to mentor the teams – the mentoring was incredible and some lucky students got to work with PJ Pereira of Pereira & O’Dell himself – thanks PJ!  After three intense days of creating their campaign ideas, Jeff Goodby and Adam Reeves of Goodby Silverstein & Partners gave us the keys to their place to host the final day of judging.  The incredibly talented teams made their presentations to a great panel of judges and winners were selected for both clients.

Thank you to John Butler, Paul Venables, Jeff Goodby, The Academy of Art and the many great creatives who all made this fun and possible this year!  Congratulations to all of the participants!
