Jim grew up in New Jersey-wait, don't stop reading, it gets better-then
began his advertising career as the receptionist at Scali, McCabe, Sloves in
New York. Fortunately he was so bad at it that they begged him to become a
copywriter. A year later, Jim fled NY for San Francisco where he worked at
the creative boutique Mandelbaum, Mooney, Ashley and FCB/SF. For the past 7
years, he's been at BBDO West where he's risen to ECD. A job that
splits Jim's time between the San Francisco and Los Angeles offices, which
has made him a connoisseur of in-flight peanuts and re-circulated air.
Over the years, Jim's exerted his endless energies on a wide range of
brands from MTV, Fox Sports, Earthlink and Volvo, to Sega, Mitsubishi
Motors, Gallo Family Winery, California Lottery and Pioneer Electronics.
And, as many motivational posters profess, all that hard work has paid off.
Jim's won numerous advertising awards along the way.
When not at work, Jim enjoys backpacking, mountain biking and fly fishing
(all activities that still allow him to use his Treo). Jim is married and
has two sons whom he allows to watch TV. That way they'll know what he's
talking about when he says things like, "branded content."
