Paulina grew up in Mexico City, where she studied graphic and industrial
design. After graduating she worked as a freelance illustrator primarily for fashion and cultural publications.
A year later, Paulina moved to Minneapolis to work as a designer for Laurie
DeMartino, who had been her mentor during an exhange program with the
Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
Having loved the experience of a small design studio, but curious to work
at a bigger firm, she went on to design at Duffy Design. A few years later, she moved to NY to work at Louise Fili Ltd. Paulina now works as a senior designer at Kate Spade.
Paulina's work has been recognized by national and international design
organizations ADC, TDC, AIGA, Print Magazine, ID Magazine, Communication
Arts, a! Diseņo, Gatopardo and others. For her work with Laurie DeMartino,
Paulina was part of the 2003 Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial. That same year
she was selected by Print magazine as one the 20 new visual artists featured in the "20 under 30" annual publication. In 2006 she was selected as a "Young Gun" in the biennial competition held by the Art Directors Club.
