Members, not customers — that’s what makes choosing Nationwide different. It started with Ohio farmers in the 1920s who didn’t want to go it alone, and it’s still owned by its policyholders today. Making this benefit a rallying cry, "Join the Nation” grew both positive sentiment and consideration for home insurance. Those farmers were on to something! Then again, they were into growing things, too.
