Jonathan Haidt on why we're convinced we're right ( and everyone else is wrong) / Royal Society of the Arts

Submitted By Sophie Koko Gate

Description

Are you trapped in an online echo chamber? Society is becoming ever more divided as we seek out information that reinforces our views – but how do we avoid ending up dogmatic and entrenched? Renowned social psychologist Jonathan Haidt shares a shocking personal example of confirmation bias on social media, and shows just how vital it is for us to open up and absorb ideas from across the political spectrum.

Objective

This animation was made for the RSA youtube channel

Technical Challenge

As ever the budget was so low that I had to limit my time working on this piece. The challenge here was making a 2 minute film in less than a month. I ended up spending about 6 weeks on the whole thing to get it up to the standard that I wanted.
