Description

I worked on this project whilst at Green Chameleon, a Bristol based design agency. My role was to design and illustrate 3 maps, and to illustrate and animate over 100 icons. I also created an animated promotional video for the company, to be shared on social media.

Objective

Bristol based travel agency, InsideAsia Tours, came to Green Chameleon with the task of creating a new piece of content that would help to raise brand awareness and connect with their existing customer base, along with providing a boost to their search engine rankings.

The aim for the project was to create something truly unique and inspiring for users looking to book their next holiday. In order to do this we felt it was crucial that all the elements of the project were created from scratch, this meant creating completely bespoke illustrations of the 3 destinations along with illustrating and animating over 100 individual icons to represent the location.

The final piece to this campaign site is the integration with Google Street View API. As a user is exploring the maps and uncovering each animation they can click through to view a completely interactive 360° photosphere. Short of going and visiting the locations, this unique experience is the perfect way of exploring the amazing destinations.

Step Inside Asia has received 44,000 visits from 37,250 users in only 6 weeks.

This site was featured on FWA, AWWWARDS, CSS Design Awards, Net Magazine, and Web Designer.
It also won Site of the Day from the FWA, AWWWARDS, and CSS.

The second part of the project was to create an animated promotional video which could be shared on social media.

Technical Challenge

The technical challenges we had to overcome involved figuring out how to create an animation heavy site which would function properly, as well as the large workload, over 100 icons were designed and animated, as well as 3 huge maps and a promotional video.
