Wieden+Kennedy, Nike, Ogilvy Group and WPP Top Rankings

The One Club, producers of the prestigious One Show Awards, unveiled today a new ranking system based on the number of Pencils and Merits awarded. This year, Wieden+Kennedy ranked first among agencies across all shows while Nike and Ogilvy Group topped clients and networks, respectively. R/GA ranked first within One Show Interactive, which earned the company Interactive Agency of the Year honors, and Kolle Rebbe took the top spot for One Show Design.

The ranking system is now open to the public and can be accessed via the archives of The One Club website. Rankings can be sorted by awards show, year, client, agency, network, holding company and country. The rankings are based on a point system that tabulates scores ascribed to the variety of honors awarded at the One Show Awards, including Best of Show (75 points), Gold Pencils (25 points), Silver Pencils (15 points), Bronze Pencils (10 points), Green Pencils (20 points) and Merits (5 points).

“The new ranking system testifies to the growing international reach of the One Show Awards,” said Mary Warlick, CEO of The One Club. “Particularly in the last several years, we’ve seen great work coming out of countries like the UK, Germany, Japan, India, Brazil and Australia, which boasts Best of Show this year. It was important to acknowledge how well agencies all over the world have been doing.”

“The objective of the new ranking system is to add a quantitative layer to the qualitative information provided by our judges,” said Kevin Swanepoel, President of The One Club. “This dynamic system enables us to segment in a variety of ways, very quickly giving us new insights into where good work is being done.”
