Second Annual One Show Education Festival

NEW YORK, NY (May 9, 2006) - Several hundred talented students from all over the world will find out if they have what it takes to make it in the advertising business when they converge for The One Club's second annual One Show Education Festival in New York City, May 16-18, 2006.

A select group of top graduating seniors from U.S. and international schools will exhibit their work, get their portfolios critiqued by top creative and design directors, and compete for a college scholarship in a client pitch during the three-day event. Capping the Festival will be an awards party, where highly coveted Gold, Silver and Bronze pencils will be given to the best and brightest entries in this year's One Show College Competition.

For more than a decade, The One Club, an organization dedicated to promoting excellence in advertising, has honored winning college entries during the One Show, the Oscars of the advertising industry, an event held each May in New York City.

Kicking off The One Show Education Festival will be The One Club's 12th Annual Student Exhibition, where a select group of U.S. and international schools display the work of top graduating seniors. The event continues with student portfolio reviews and a client pitch competition in which HybridCenter.org, a policy group whose mission is to promote and educate the public about hybrid technology, will critique student ads. The Festival Awards party, where Gold, Silver and Bronze pencils will be awarded to top winners in The One Club College Competition and the recipient of the Patrick Kelly Scholarship will be announced, will take place on May 18. Attendees will also see the first showing of the 2006 One Show winners reel.

The One Club for Art & Copy is the nation's foremost non-profit organization for the recognition and promotion of excellence in advertising.
