The Developer
By Carrie Cummings on Oct 17, 2013
Leo Burnett’s latest spot for Samsung combines a chart-topping hit song, “Royals” by Lorde, the styling of Les Miserables’ costume designer, Paco Delgado, and the world’s most famous soccer player, Lionel Messi, to come up with this powerful spot.
“The Developer,” played by Messi, uses his Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to orchestrate a new development in a desolate, sad looking place full of children who look more like Dickensian street urchins than kids of 2013.
In the end, the aesthetics, vocals and celebrity work together to show what can be done with a piece of Samsung technology in your hand.
