Showcasing the incredible winners of Young Guns 16

After months of decisions, discussions and debate, The One Club For Creativity is thrilled to unveil the winners of Young Guns 16! These 30 art directors, illustrators, filmmakers, photographers and designers of all types stood above all in this career-making, globe-spanning portfolio-based competition.

Ahead of the Young Guns 16 Ceremony + Party taking place on November 15, we are shining a spotlight on the various superstars who will be honored that evening.

What does winning this award mean to you?

This was our first time entering Young Guns, and we are thrilled to be chosen by the judges. Our goal is to create the most interesting works that we are capable of making. This award itself is a great acknowledgement.

It’s not easy to be a successful creative. What sorts of challenges have you encountered to get where you are today?

Besides photography, our disciplines also include art direction, set design and styling. We are fortunate to work with clients that respect our style and challenges creatively. Challenges come with greater responsibilities. For instance, we had to learn how to make specific props in short amounts of time. Luckily, knowledge is very easy to access in this digital era.

How did you decide what to enter into Young Guns? Was it a challenge to curate yourself?

We chose to submit only our most recent work. These works represents the current state of our approach to the medium.

Can you name any past Young Guns winners who you look up to, whose work you admire or are even inspired by?

We really like Mirka Laura Severa’s (YG13) work. It’s the perfect blend of quirkiness and beauty.

What keeps you going, creatively speaking?

As Jonas Salk says "The reward for work well done is the opportunity to do more."  Excitement from the possibilities to work with more interesting subjects, and future collaborations and assignments keep us going.

Now that you’re a Young Guns winner, what’s next?

Winning Young Guns is amazing but it doesn’t change our pace. We will continue making more work. Hopefully winning Young Guns can bring us more interesting projects to work with.

The Young Guns 16 Ceremony & Party takes place on Thursday, November 15 in New York City.
