Papua New Guinea is one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world. With 852 known language’s spoken and a population just over 7 million with 85% of its population living in rural rainforest. The country of Papua New Guinea is one of the least explored culturally and geographically in the world. Over come by curiosity I traveled the country photographing over 450 tribes people from such tribes as the Asaro Mudmen, the Omo Masali skeleton people, the Huli wingmen, the Kuruwari tribes the Hotwara tribes, the Yenchan tribe, the Sili Muli of Enga and the Huli of Hela just to name a few. I have documented thru photography in a very controlled lighting environment what I believe is the most extensive gathering of tribes from Papua New Guinea ever to be recorded. Historically this work will become very important as Western civilization begins its evolution into this society.
