About the Work

Ludia has been a mobile-only video game development company since 2011. At the time, they made a bold bet to move away from consoles and focus instead on the future and mobile. We made them take the same bet with the redesign of their brand identity. We wanted to move away from the often overly childish codes of brands working exclusively in the mobile world and create a mature brand with an ambitious character.

We needed to create a brand that spoke primarily to Ludia's current and potential studio talent. While most brands in the industry are user-focused and have identities that are in line with their product, Ludia adopts the image of its products to address a target audience with very different aspirations. We swapped the comical for the ambitious and the adorable for the mature.

In the entertainment world, mobile gaming is No. 1, so it had to show in the brand. From the logo that borrows the ratio of a screen to the play of light and shadow that alludes to a glowing screen, we transposed the mobile experience into immersive brand elements. Ludia’s identity is aimed at current and future employees, convincing them that mobile gaming is exciting while highlighting the company’s world-class stature.
