About the Work
Even as designers embrace a more diverse runway, for models of every shape and size, body acceptance is a long and winding road.
This film revolves around the cast’s personal stories that they narrate themselves. While keeping these stories at the forefront of the mix, we built a rich and textured Sound Design world that complements the narrative in a balanced way.
I also worked on some soundscapes/drones for the middle section that glue all of these stories together in a subtle yet emotional way.
During the montage sequences where the voices overlap, we added some lines in a multitude of languages from all around the world (saying the word “body”). This helps to give a wider dimension to these stories and put an emphasis on the fact that these feelings are universal and shared by people all around the world. We layered and spatialized the voices to convey an immersive feeling so that viewers are placed within the conversation.
