About the Work
Every child knows Santa Claus- but how did he become the legendary figure that makes every Christmas so magical? Netto's online short film "Der Wahre Weihnachtsmann" (The Real Santa Claus) answers precisely this question and tells the heartwarming "origin story" of Santa Claus.
However, the viral also had another big task: to provide a big stage for the anniversary partnership between Netto and the Peter Maffay Foundation. With the sale of Tabaluga products, the foundation has been offering disadvantaged children a new perspective for five years now.
The lovingly animated full CGI film shows how a bullied outsider finds his destiny and a message about the unlimited potential of children. With 663 comp versions, 120,000 beard strands, 74 Santa model versions, 222 Santa look versions, 22 artists, and 3 days of virtual production, we beautifully illustrated and crafted the motto of our campaign – the greatest gift is to help the little ones!
