About the Work
Creative agency and production company Invisible North and production company Partizan produced “Run the Chain” for The Degen Trilogy, a first-of-its-kind high energy fully animated short film for Coinbase featuring cameos from Bored Apes Yacht Club (BAYC) Apes to showcase their kickoff of it’s ApeCoin virtual currency for the NFT marketplace.
In this first short, a group of Degens are mysteriously called together on an adventure that takes them on a wild ride through an electric array of animated worlds, through many obstacles native to digital disruption and equitable economic advancement, competing with each other for the highest stakes of all. Mixing photoreal 3D and illustrative 2D animation, 8-bit and mixed media storytelling, the visuals reflect the diversity and eclecticism of the Web3 community itself. Kicking off the project with an open casting call to the BAYC community, seven Bored Ape NFTs were cast for key roles in the film, which the animation team brought to life, to help the Degens as they are confronted with ever more difficult challenges.
The female-led creative team behind this animation film includes director Lauren Indovina, screenwriter Susanna Fogel (Booksmart, The Spy Who Dumped Me, The Addams Family 2) and Web3 expert Steal Nephenson, executive producer Jinko Gotoh (Klaus, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, The Little Prince, Finding Nemo), female-owned creative agency and production company Invisible North, female-owned production and animation company Partizan Entertainment, and 3D animation from Antoine Moulineau at Light VFX and 2D animation from Picnic VFX.
