About the Work

Gotham Knights had a serious challenge ahead of them; the first new game that takes place in Gotham City in over 7 years and the most iconic part of it, Batman, is dead. We had to build interest around the four playable orphans: Robin, Batgirl, Redhood and Nightwing for a mass audience who knows little to nothing about these heroes. So, we took a different approach in our Cinematic Launch trailer. Instead of the usual action and heroics we aimed to showcase these characters vulnerabilities and treat them in the exact opposite way Batman is traditionally treated in these kinds of films. We used a more empathetic approach to tap into a younger and more progressive gaming audience to help make Gotham Knights a top 20 game in sales for 2022.
