About the Work

For our story on the sex lives of seniors, the visual artist Marilyn Minter cast older adults who were willing to (nearly) bare it all. It is rare to see sexuality and intimacy between older adults in an elevated way. Minter wanted her subjects — some of whom were in their 70s and 80s — to look sexy, elegant and distinctly their age. Minter’s candy-colored palette and visceral textures present a wholly new way of seeing sexuality and seniors.
