About the Work
For our annual Voyages Issue, Gareth McConnell photographed Iceland's beloved horses. McConnell, whose practice is largely studio-based, created mystical and sublime images of these unique horses. The kaleidoscopic cover challenges the notions of animal photography by bending reality and creating a surprising, dreamlike vision.
