Steven L. Stamper co-founded fd2s in 1985, and now leads the fd2s team as it addresses strategic and technical issues related to wayfinding, orientation, and placemaking in the environment. As the firm's managing principal, he is also responsible for financial and administrative aspects of the firm's daily operations. Steven has extensive experience with wayfinding strategy and experiential graphic design for a wide range of project types, extending from retail developments and corporate facilities to medical centers and city-scale municipal projects.

An active participant in the global design community, Steven is currently a board member of the Society for Experiential Graphic Design, and previously served as the organization's President. He has chaired the SEGD Design Awards competition, co-chaired the group's annual conference, and served as a juror for the American Institute of Graphic Arts' annual design competition. Steven also developed the industry-standard Grade II Braille digital font system.

Steven earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Communication Arts and Design from Virginia Commonwealth University.
