Commercial Photography + Afrofuturism Artist
I am a self-taught commercial artist & photographer born and bred in Nairobi, Kenya with a Bachelor’s in Architecture. My style of photography falls within the genre of afrofuturism, while highlighting three key principals being culture, fiction and identity. Through storytelling and social inclusion, it creates a powerful platform to convey important messages on certain topics. Aside from commercial work I have been part of the team that won Kenya’s first ever Cannes Lion in 2015 and One Show Finalist, a finalist in the Hasselblad Masters 2016 competition and been featured on Lurzer’s Archive 200 Best Digital Artists Worldwide 2015/16 and 2017/18. In 2017 I was selected by Absolut Vodka as one of their 5 Creative Revolutionaries in Africa. I’ve been featured in respected publications and news channels such as Communication Arts, CNN, BBC, WeTransfer, Vogue Italia, Marie Claire, Huffington Post, Bored Panda, BuzzFeed, The Metro (UK), and Adobe Create. I have also had my work exhibited around the world.
