Monica Dancu is a New York-based multidisciplinary industrial designer holding the role of design director at Ralph Lauren Home. Dancu is a cross-functional leader for the $20M multi-channel business across tabletop, gift, and decorative accessories, realizing design concepts for global manufacturing. Driven by a philosophy based on the Bauhaus dictum ‘form follows function’, Dancu masters innovative, sustainable solutions through learning the origins and life cycle of materials, and artisans skilled in their crafts. Graduating from Parsons School of Design in Industrial Design in 2004, Dancu held previous design roles with Robert Rabinovitz Studio and Macy’s before beginning her 14-year tenure at Ralph Lauren. Designs under Dancu’s leadership have been featured in some of the world’s leading media including Architectural Digest, Cabana, Elle Decor, World of Interiors and WSJ Magazine. She is regular guest critic and speaker for the Industrial Design division at Parsons and was a guest critic for Pratt School of Design Furniture Design graduate program of 2016.
