Sonya Dyakova (b.1975) is an art director and founder of Atelier Dyakova — a multi-disciplinary, visual communication agency in London.
Sonya studied and began her career in San Francisco. Upon moving to London, she worked with Vince Frost and Kerr|Noble, before joining Phaidon Press in 2005, where she worked closely with the iconic British designer Alan Fletcher. At Phaidon, Dyakova was responsible for the design of a wide range of books, from contemporary art and design to architecture and photography. In 2011 Sonya began to work independently. She was commissioned to re-design frieze magazine and remained the publication's art director for 5 years. She created new magazines, Frieze Masters and Guestbook. In 2011 she received a Grand Prix from the Tokyo Type Directors Club. Atelier Dyakova’s clients include museums, galleries, cultural institutions, restaurants and fashion brands. Offering expertise in design and art direction, intentionally small team create publications, identities, websites, packaging, exhibitions, and signage for international clients. Sonya is a member of Alliance Graphique Internationale.
