The ADC Annual Awards is the oldest continuously running industry award show in the world. Now in its incredible 102nd year, these awards celebrate the very best in advertising, digital media, graphic and publication design, packaging and product design, motion, experiential and spatial design, photography, illustration and fashion design all with a focus on artistry and craftsmanship.

Kadir Nelson is an acclaimed artist and the illustrator of several New York Times bestselling picture books, including his authorial debut We Are the Ship: The Story of Negro League Baseball, which won a Coretta Scott King Award and a Sibert Medal. Kadir has received three additional Coretta Scott King Awards and five Coretta Scott King honors. He has also received two Caldecott Honors, for Henry's Freedom Box: A True Story from the Underground Railroad and Moses: When Harriet Tubman Led Her People to Freedom and has thrice received the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work as well as the Hamilton King Award from the NY Society of Illustrators. His paintings are in the permanent collections of several public institutions including the National Portrait Gallery, the Muskegon Museum of Art, and the US House of Representatives.
