Mathew and Ghosh Architects

Bangalore, India

Nisha Mathew Ghosh’s architecture practice situates itself within the larger practice of Mathew and Ghosh Architects, India which she co-founded with her husband Soumitro Ghosh in 1996.

Her reflective practice is a confluence of many strands from Architecture, Design (which includes among others, the experimentation with and commitment to sustainable upcycled textiles for Home), and Community outreach via up-skilling projects. Underlying these multiple strands is a commitment to IDEAS especially those at the threshold of urban settlements and ecology, especially Water, Forest and Air. Her recent built project is a private home project called House of Stories (in collaboration with Soumitro Ghosh) which is a mapping of light via the spatial envelope.

Her other works include the seminal competition entry for the Bhopal Gas Tragedy Memorial which was based on the cleaning of the brownfield.

She is recently selected to design the India Pavilion installation at the London Design Biennale 2020.
