Kate Elazegui is the creative director of The New York Times Opinion desk, overseeing digital and print executions for its journalism and expanding visual alignment in Video and Audio. Her work has received top honors from Society of News Design, Society of Publication Design, ASME, and received an Emmy Award nomination. Previously, she was the Creative Director at ESPN’s editorial sites, responsible for launching FiveThirtyEight and The Undefeated as well as overseeing the visual direction for Grantland and “30 for 30” films. Kate has held creative leadership positions in both publishing and service sectors, most notably New York Magazine and consulting practice, SYPartners. Work obsessions aside, she explores life with her wife in Jersey (while dreaming of a return to Brooklyn), and being a loving tiger mom to her almost twins, Reid and Eddie.
