Hi! My name is Katty Huertas and I'm an artist and illustrator born in Colombia and based in Washington DC. I have a BA in Art from Florida International University and an MFA in Graphic Design from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA).

In my practice, I like to combine analog and digital mediums and I like to experiment with animation, augmented reality, textiles, and sculptures. I also love creating work that is narrative, full of detail and texture.

My client list includes Disney +, HBO Max , Adobe, Honda, Nickelodeon, YouTube, The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Washington Post , Wired, Harvard Business Review, BuzzFeed News, Red Bull Music Academy and the Women's March amongst others. My work also has been shown in galleries in multiple locations including New York City, San Francisco, Oakland, Baltimore, Washington DC, Austin, and Bogota, Colombia, and has been featured by Tumblr, VSCO, LEDBaltimore, Adobe, Behance, Society 6, 21Wallpaper, and Booooooom. I was named AIGA's 2020 Fresh Grad representing MICA and my work has also been recognized by the Adobe Design Achievement Awards, Latin American Illustration, and Communication Arts.

Besides my personal and freelance practice, I currently work as an a designer at The Washington Post where I get to illustrate in-house as well as commission illustrators.
