Hi! My name is Katty Huertas and I'm an artist and illustrator born in Colombia and based in the Washington DC/Baltimore area. I have a BA in Art from Florida International University and an MFA in Graphic Design from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA).

In my practice, I like to combine analog and digital mediums and I like to experiment with animation, augmented reality, textiles, and sculptures. I also love creating work that is full of detail and texture.

I was named AIGA's 2020 Fresh Grad representing MICA and my work has also been recognized by the Adobe Design Achievement Awards, Latin American Illustration, and Communication Arts.

My client list includes HBO Max , Adobe, Honda, Nickelodeon, The New York Times, The New Yorker, The Washington Post , Wired, Harvard Business Review, BuzzFeed News, Red Bull Music Academy and the Women's March amongst others. My work also has been shown in galleries in multiple locations including New York City, San Francisco, Baltimore, Washington DC, Austin, and Bogota, Colombia, and has been featured by Tumblr, VSCO, LEDBaltimore, Adobe Portfolio, Adobe Students, Adobe Latinoamerica, Behance, Society 6, 21Wallpaper, and Booooooom.

Besides my personal and freelance practice, I currently work as an editorial designer at NBC News for Today.com and teach graphic design part-time in the after-school program at the Latin American Youth Center to underprivileged kids in Washington DC.
