Kevin Adams is a lettering artist and typeface designer based in New York City. His typographic-centered designs combine elements of pop art, graffiti and propaganda art. Known for his bright color palettes and highly detailed letterforms, his clients include Adobe, Entrepreneur Magazine, The Star Tribune, Smorgasburg as well as 23andMe. His work has been published in Typism books 4, 5, 7, and 8 plus was featured in editorials about his work by The Brooklyn Circus and Type Magazine. Kevin’s services range from creating social media posts, a logotype for a new brand, or the headline for an advertising campaign, and editorial illustrations. When not creating for clients, Kevin finds a great deal of inspiration from African American music and letters various song lyrics as a vehicle to give social commentary. He uses this work to jumpstart larger conversations on topics like equal pay for women, mental wellbeing, cultural appropriation, and climate change. Kevin has advocated for better representation for people of color in the lettering and type community. His efforts lead to platforms such as Typism taking this baton to amplify voices that may be neglected in the art and design community.
